The April 2012 Labor Force Survey (LFS) results revealed an employment rate of 93.1 percent. The employment rate reported in April 2011 was 92.8 percent. Among the regions, only the National Capital Region (NCR) had an employment rate below 90.0 percent. Out of the estimated population of 62.8 million population who were 15 years old and over in April 2012, 40.6 million were in the labor force, compared to the estimated 39.7 million in April 2011. The labor force participation rate (LFPR) in April 2012 was 64.7 percent, while it was 64.2 percent in April 2011.
