As the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) drive for a more inclusive growth for the next years, the commitment to push for programs and policies in fulfillment of its mandate coincides with relentlessly capacitating its personnel to bring quality service to the nation.
A three-day Achieving Corporate Excellence Program for the BWSC technical staff was initiated through the Workers in the Informal Economy Development Division (WIEDD) to provide insights on the need for corporate excellence and competitiveness.
A total of 20 participants from the Bureau attended the said training, which was held last October 15-17, 2019 at the Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas.
In her opening speech, Ms. Predelma Tan, Director II of the DOLE - Batangas Provincial Office, said that training like this will help build up the characters of the personnel, which will create a culture of integrity and professionalism in the organization.
“You [participants] are privileged to have this kind of training, and I hope that you will really use the knowledge imparted here,” Tan stated.
Mr. Jose Israel Resurreccion and Ms. Hannah Laya Resurreccion from the Passion for Perfection Inc. trained the participants on how to implement a culture of excellence as well as formulate a plan on how to achieve its commitment.
Various structured learning exercises (SLEs) with a combination of illustrated talks, workshops, practicum and lectures were employed in the conduct of the said training program.
“We learned a lot during the 3-day program that we can definitely use in our organization. The speakers and their activities are very engaging. Overall, natuto kami habang nag-i-enjoy,” Ms. Jessaline Escame, one of the participants from the Workers Social Amelioration and Development Division (WSADD), said.
Another participant, Mr. Cyrus Policarpio expressed that he learned a lot from the training in a comprehensive way.
“Our speakers always make sure that we are engaged by giving us different group activities and energizers. Also, they gave us pieces of advice on the importance of ethics, emphasizing the values and virtues we need to uphold in order to demonstrate corporate excellence,” he added.
