Intramuros, Manila – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III recognized the efforts and sacrifices made by the workers in spite of the threats brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his message for the Labor Day, Bello celebrated the importance of the workforce in keeping the economy afloat, as well as providing essential services to the Filipino people.
He lauded their efforts and sacrifices tagging the Filipino workers as the modern-day heroes.
Despite the crisis and the fear of the virus, the Filipino workers have been fulfilling their duties and continuously providing basic services that are needed, which prompt the Department to protect them through the government’s programs and services.
Bello reiterated the joint effort of the government and workers that is essential for the country to overcome the pandemic.
